First and foremost, I help and guide exhausted  parents that just need some much needed support. With my help we will gently guide  your little ones to better sleep, without sleep training that feels harsh or overwhelming. I have been there and know exactly how you feel. I also know how daunting the aspect of "sleep training" can be!

ESSENTIAL BABY SLEEP FACTS:

New born Sleep Patterns: New borns have short sleep cycles (40–50 minutes) and spend 50% of their time in REM (active) sleep.

 

Irregular Cycles: Babies do not have regular sleep-wake cycles (circadian rhythms) until about 4 months of age.

 

"Sleeping Through" Definition: In baby terms, this often means a 5–6 hour stretch, not a full 8–12 hour adult night.

 

Night Waking: It is normal for babies to wake at 4–5 months &  8–9 months, even if they previously slept through the night, often due to growth spurts, hunger, or teething.

  • Total Sleep Time:

    • 0–3 Months: 14–17 hours per 24 hours.

    • 4–12 Months: 12–16 hours per 24 hours.

    • 1–2 Years: 11–14 hours per 24 hours.

FREQUENT NIGHT  WAKINGS: 
Your little one wake multiple times  each night and struggles to  re settle without assistance.

BEDTIME BATTLES: 
Putting your child to bed becomes a battle of the wills, lengthy including tears and resistance.

SHORT NAPS:
Could be due to hunger, an unsuitable sleeping environment, being over or under tired. Difficulties in self soothing leading to irritability and disrupted sleep patterns.

DAY & NIGHT CONFUSIONS:
When your baby struggles to differentiate between day and night time, leading to them sleeping during the day and being awake at night.

SLEEP REGRESSIONS:
A temporary phase—usually lasting 2–4 weeks—where a baby or toddler who was previously sleeping well suddenly starts waking at night, resisting naps, or becoming fussy. These regressions are normal, often coinciding with developmental milestones (crawling, walking), growth spurts, or teething, and typically occur around 4, 6, 8–10 months, and the 1-year mark.

I contacted Helena when I needed help with my 5 year old and his early waking.
She was so friendly with lots of invaluable advice and put a plan together which I started straight away. After a few days he went from sleeping 10 hours to 11.5!
